NEW : HRG v3.5.2008/09.Local Payment Grouper and Spell Converter 3.2.1 Issued 01/04/08

The Casemix Service has issued a Local Payment version of the HRG v3.5 Grouper, 'HRG v3.5 2008/09 Local Payment'. This is to be used to assess local reimbursement that will be received under PbR for the 2008/09 financial year. Payment during 2008/09 will continue to be made on the basis of data processed using HRGv3.5. The v2007.1.0 Grouper is still to be used for local reimbursement calculations for the 2007/08 financial year.

HRG v3.5.2008/09.Local Payment Grouper and Spell Converter 3.2.1 Content

Users that wish to assess levels of local reimbursement received under PbR for the 2008/09 financial year should download the HRG v3.5 2008/09 Local Payment Grouper, and the corresponding spell converter, 3.2.1.

This spell converter is unchanged from HRG v3.5 2008/09 RoadTesting T2 (version 3.2.1) but is different to V2007.1.0 (3.1.0). As with previous releases, the local spell converter does not accommodate PbR exclusions. Episodes that are out of the scope of PbR should therefore be removed from the local grouper output prior to running through the local spell converter. For completeness, the revised HRG hierarchy contains rankings for those HRGs that are excluded from PbR at an episode level. Those organisations that choose not to remove exclusion episodes after local grouping may generate a version 3.5 spell HRG that is a PbR exclusion.

The Casemix Service has issued a revised version of the HRG v3.5 Grouper, version 'HRG v3.5 2008/09 Local Payment'. This is to be used to assess local reimbursement that will be received under PbR for the 2008/09 financial year. The current version V2007.1.0 is still to be used for local reimbursement calculations for the 2007/08 financial year.

The HRG Grouper is used to assign Healthcare Resource Groups (HRGs) to data input from a patient record. This release of 'HRG v3.5.2008/09 Local Payment' continues to support all definition schemes supported by V2007.1.0.

HRG v3.5.2008/09 Local Payment continues to support the latest table of coding equivalence (TOCE), which maps the OPCS-4.4 codes introduced from April 2007 to their equivalent codes in OPCS-4.2, on which HRG v3.5 is based.
