Social care user survey guidance - 2013-14

This guidance sets out the actions that Councils with Adult Social Services Responsibilities need to perform during 2013-14 in relation to Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) surveys.

In 2013-14, only one user experience survey is being run: the Adult Social Care Survey (ASCS).

2013-14 will be the fourth year of the ASCS; it is designed to help the sector understand more about how services are affecting lives rather than simply what outputs services are providing. User experience information is critical for understanding the impact of those services - and for enabling choice and informing service development.

Participating in this survey allows councils to benchmark against their comparators and gather information to support their local commissioning, performance and strategy. Data from the survey feeds into a number of measures in the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework.
