Mental health reports go monthly

September 3, 2013: The Health and Social Care Information Centre has moved one of its important mental health reports to a monthly publication schedule.

The Mental Health Minimum Data Set reports provide information about mental health services provided in hospitals, outpatient clinics and community settings and were previously published quarterly.

The new report will provide more timely data and a wider range of information, including monthly monitoring of the number people subject to the Mental Health Act, which includes people detained or under a Community Treatment Order.

The new reports will provide providers and commissioners with improved information about both caseload and activity, enabling them to assess and compare the quality of care and plan future services.
