New figures released on Improving Access to Psychological Therapies

21 July 2015: Figures published today shed new light on referrals to psychological therapies for NHS patients in England during January to March 2015.

*Regional information is available within this report

The report publishes new monthly and quarterly data which focus on the number of referrals entering treatment; the number of referrals which finished a course of treatment and a breakdown by gender, age and ethnicity. The figures also show the recovery rate for those that have finished a course of treatment.

The number of referrals entering treatment and the recovery rate are the official figures used to measure the NHS England and Health Education England mandates that: "by the end of 2014/15 IAPT services should be providing timely access to treatment for at least 15 per cent of those who could benefit, with a recovery rate of at least 50 per cent."
