Deaths following time in hospital - one page summary

NHS Digital continually strives to improve the quality and content of our products and services. In July 2015 we piloted a new one page summary to accompany our quarterly Summary Hospital-level Mortality Indicator (SHMI) publication which aimed to provide a more user-friendly introduction to this topic.

In order to help us to develop this format further, a user feedback survey inviting comments on this new format was set up. The survey was available for a period of one month and 90 responses were received.

The majority of respondents stated that the one page summary was a useful addition to the existing resources on this topic and so from October 2015 onwards we have routinely published this format alongside the more detailed SHMI report.
